Pay Range: $54,600 Annual DOE


Position Summary:

The Assistant Store Manager plays a vital role in leading daily dispensary operations and shaping Mint Cannabis’s store culture. This individual is responsible for motivating, mentoring, and managing a team of 25–50 employees while ensuring compliance, customer satisfaction, and high operational standards. The role requires strong leadership, a passion for cannabis education, and a commitment to creating a welcoming and compliant environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Must be able to provide daily leadership and operational direction for 25–50 store employees.
  • Responsible for training, mentoring, and inspiring staff while fostering a positive team culture.
  • Must oversee all dispensary operations including product orders, inventory, customer service, and cash handling.
  • Responsible for executing and enforcing all Arizona cannabis laws and compliance protocols.
  • Must coordinate daily sales reporting, financial performance, and KPI tracking.
  • Required to handle escalated customer issues and uphold customer service excellence.
  • Partner with HR to support recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and disciplinary actions.
  • Responsible for creating team schedules, time-off approvals, and shift coverage.
  • Oversee vendor relationships, store maintenance needs, and third-party coordination.
  • Partner with the Marketing team to analyze store metrics and implement engagement initiatives.
  • Support physical store security, including opening/closing procedures and safe/code management.
  • Lead daily and monthly team meetings to review store goals and progress.
  • Provide ongoing feedback to support employee evaluations and performance reviews.
  • Must be willing to support other store roles as needed.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Directly supervises team members across all departments of the dispensary.
  • Provides input on performance evaluations, corrective action, and scheduling.


Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Facility Agent Card in accordance with Arizona state regulations.
  • 1+ year of experience in a retail management or people leadership role required.
  • 2+ years of customer service experience preferred.
  • Cannabis retail experience is strongly preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively manage high-volume customer interactions.
  • Strong decision-making, conflict resolution, and time-management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on process and operational efficiency.
  • Ability to handle multiple responsibilities, meet deadlines, and adapt in a dynamic retail environment.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and a flexible 7-day retail schedule if needed.


Education and Certifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • No specific certifications required; management training or coursework preferred.


Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift at least 10 pounds.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, or squat for extended periods.
  • Must be able to work at a computer and in a retail environment for long durations.
 


Work Environment:

  • Work is performed in a licensed retail cannabis dispensary.
  • Moderate noise, customer interaction, and exposure to odors.
  • PPE may be required depending on operational duties.


Travel Requirements:

Minimal local travel may be required to support store functions or attend training.
