HR Generalist -
Reports to: Director of Human Resources
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Location: Phoenix, AZ
Pay Range: $52,000 - $55,000 annually (DOE)
Position Summary:
This role is meant to support the business by continuously auditing the company's policies. The HR manager should be running reports to validate the information being organized, creating dashboards, and managing implementations across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees, guiding policies, procedures, and employee relations matters.
- Manage complex employee relations issues, including investigations, performance concerns, and corrective actions.
- Lead workers’ compensation processes, including claim intake, communication with carriers, incident tracking, and return-to-work coordination.
- Partner closely with payroll on auditing hours, identifying discrepancies, resolving pay issues, and ensuring accurate labor reporting.
- Administer benefits programs, support escalated employee questions, and coordinate with vendors to resolve issues.
- Support FMLA, ADA, and all leave-related processes, ensuring compliance and proper documentation.
- Manage HRIS data accuracy, run reports, and maintain confidential employee records.
- Lead compliance initiatives, including audits, regulatory updates, and policy enhancements across multiple states.
- Mentor HR team members and provide training to build organizational knowledge in employee relations, benefits, and payroll practices.
- Support onboarding, offboarding, and general HR operations as needed
- Maintain strict confidentiality and ensure all HR practices align with federal, state, local, and cannabis industry regulations.

Qualifications:
- Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or related field required; Master's preferred.
- Work Experience: 3+ years progressive HR experience with 2+ years in senior HR leadership; multi-state experience preferred.
- Hard Skills: Employment law, employee relations, investigations, HRIS, compensation, benefits, leave administration, performance management, workforce planning, analytics.
- Soft Skills: Strategic leadership, communication, coaching, conflict resolution, emotional intelligence, relationship building, integrity.
- Certifications & License: SHRM-SCP or SPHR preferred; SHRM-CP or PHR considered with equivalent experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, use office equipment, lift to 25 lbs., and travel between company locations as needed.
Work Environment:
- Professional office environment with periodic travel to retail, cultivation, manufacturing, distribution, and corporate locations. Occasional evenings and weekends may be required.
